Glitz, Glamour & A National Championship

While all the football bros here in New York can’t stop talking about the Giants’ big win, we can’t stop talking about last night’s half-time show. No, we are not here to gossip about any controversial gestures that may or may not have been made by any of the performers; but on a more fabulous note, the glitz and glamour of last night’s costumes.

Egyptian-inspired designs seemed to be the theme of the night keeping things fierce and flashy in shining gold.

Madonna proved to be young at heart in a gold headdress, black thigh highs and a pleated cheerleader mini. Living up to her iconic name, we expected nothing less than Givenchy Couture and Bulgari, while her sidekicks, Nicki and M.I.A, sported insanely chic Erickson Beamon headpieces. My favorite part was the quick glimpse we got of her bedazzled underwear as she cartwheeled across the stage.

The costumes and performances were all over the place with jewels, animal prints and glitter. Less is never more when it comes to Madonna. Even though there were mixed performance reviews, for the first time in awhile, the Superbowl half-time show ensembles may have outshined the game itself.

It’s a surprise every year of what’s going to happen during half-time, and we can’t decide what was more outrageous – Cee Lo’s black sequin robe or M.I.A’s obscene actions… we’ll leave you to be the judge of that one.

Until then, congratulations to all Giants fans! The city is gleaming today of victory (almost as much as Madonna’s opening, gold, glittery number).
